So you have planned to have a bridal shower tea party. It’s a great way to celebrate something as wonderful as a wedding. You have picked out the invitations – like this one. Or visit our page for other tea party invitations.
Now, it’s time to think about what food you will serve to your guests. First, everything you serve should be finger foods. Forks and knives do not work well with tea service. So think about cute little sandwiches and sweet biscuits. And think in terms of your theme.
For example, if you have planned a red and pink romantic theme, use heart cookie-cutters to cut out sandwiches and cookies. Add a little red food coloring to your sweet items.
If you can get hold of fresh and edible flowers, add them to your plates of food. Impatiens and begonias both come in red varieties. Red radishes cut into pretty shapes make great accents for your sandwich plates.
Specialty teas even come in a variety of colors, so you can carry your color choices all the way through your tea party. Don’t be afraid to test out options ahead of time. You may want to do this if your color choices are not particularly appetizing colors. For some reason, blue breads don’t seem to work for most people.
Serve up your food on charming plates that will accent your theme and color choices.
Considering the time of day, and if your bridal shower tea party is meant to be a meal or not, you want to plan enough food for all your guests. If you are like me, you will plan for lots extra. Then you can enjoy the leftovers!
