Mother’s Day falls on May 13 this year. Always a Sunday, but instead of the traditional brunch, why not have a tea party for your mother? A wonderful tea party can be a delightful way show your mother how much you love and appreciate her.
Take the time to make this an extra special event. Use your best china, set your table with your fanciest linens, and serve up delightful treats. Since we are talking about a springtime event, use fresh flowers in your centerpiece. This can be a great excuse to go all out.
If the family is included in this tea party, have them dress for the occasion. Their Sunday finery will be a wonderful touch for your mother. Even younger children can participate in the tea party atmosphere.
I prepared a full article on how to serve up a formal afternoon tea, which gives you many more ideas. See Foods to Serve at Tea Time for ideas to prepare your menu. And look at our recipes category to see some great ideas for making sandwich spreads.
Nearly every mother will enjoy the special touch of you serving a tea party for her. So make use of this day devoted just to appreciate moms. It’s one of my favorite times to have a formal tea party.
